However, after splitting with her ex-boyfriend, Scott focused on her dreams outside of Xscape. In 2004, she signed on to play the role of Millet Jenay Baptiste-Brown in Tyler Perry’s stage play Meet the Browns.
Scott’s work with Tyler brought her closer to the famous playwright and filmmaker, and she also became friends with his bodyguard, Bigg. According to Tamika, she and Bigg hit it off from the moment they met while working on the play. However, she emphasizes that their relationship was purely platonic for years until she realized one day that she had developed strong feelings for him.
On the TV show “SWV & Xscape: Queens of R&B,” Tamika revealed that their relationship was “nothing sexual” for a long time. Still, their connection eventually grew into a romantic relationship that led them to tie the knot. In the confessional, she also admitted that their relationship is like Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston.

Tamika Scott and Darnell Renewed Their Vows in 2018
After developing strong feelings for each other, Tamika Scott and her husband, Darnell, tied the knot in 2004. Since then, they have been going well, and their married life has dragged the eyes of many. They are also working professionally, as Darnell is her and Xscape’s bodyguard.
In 2018, the married duo celebrated 14 years of love and marriage, with close ones renewing their vows in a lavish ceremony. Tamika looked gorgeous in a beautiful sequined wedding dress designed by Basketball Wives cast member Angel Brinks.
She took to Instagram to share the happy moment and thanked all people who were present to make the moment special. It’s been nearly two decades since their marriage, and there are no signs of their separation which makes it clear that their marital relationship is getting stronger.

Tamika Scott and Her Husband Raises Three Daughters
Tamika Scott is the mother of three daughters. Her first child, O’Shun Reney, was born from her past relationship with Darius Byas. She and Darius Byas reportedly tied the knot after their child was born but divorced in the early 2000s.
After her marriage with Bigg, Scott became a mother for the second time after welcoming two daughters named Niyah and Princess Armani. Tamika and Bigg are raising the three kids together.
