He was born in Tampa, Florida, on December 7, 1980, to corporate takeover expert Paul Bilzerian, his father, and Terri Steffen, his mother. He is Adam Bilzerian’s brother, who is also a poker player. Through his father, he is of half-Armenian ancestry. His father was a Wall Street business raider who set up trust funds for each of his boys.
In 1999, he enlisted in the Navy. After completing two grueling weeks of SEAL training in 2000, he was booted out of the program a few weeks before graduation due to a disagreement with one of his administrators.
He claims to have majored in Business and Criminology at the University of Florida for four years, yet it is unclear if he ever graduated.
